Report Details

We counted 130+ Clouded Yellows this morning, I expect there are many more on the Island in areas we did not cover. Other sightings of note included 3 Great White Egrets on Thorney Deeps and 200+ Brent Geese off the southern end of Thorney Island.

That seems quite an early date for Brent Geese? (or at least in those numbers). As for Clouded Yellows, a large number, and I presume they are waiting for the right wind conditions to cross the Channel. Most (if not all) sightings of Clouded Yellows on the Sussex coast, over the past couple of weeks, have been pausing, before flying across to France. Martin K
