Report Details
A couple of wonderfully sunny hours along the coast path west of Pevensey Bay was sufficient to find Long-tailed Blues in three locations, including two very actively egg-laying females (photographed at a distance of several metres with a long lens to avoid disturbing them). They were very choosy, each hovered over numerous individual Everlasting Pea buds for protracted periods, settling, after much close inspection, on only a few, and selecting even fewer of those to lay eggs on. Also seen were numerous Clouded Yellows, many Small Whites, a lot of Common Blues, fair numbers of Wall Brown and Painted Ladies, and a couple of Large Whites.
