Report Details
Further to my sightings report of 8 August 2026, three Long-tailed Blue individuals were watched during the course of the afternoon at close quarters in the garden. They were probably freshly emerged given the the smooth sheen of the upper wings of the two females . Very pleasing to have two pairing off for more than an hour. Shortly after 6pm, two were found at roost with one making use of the inside of the cup of a Wild Carrot seed head. With heavy rain forecast in the next 24 hours there are slim hopes for the female to lay eggs before heading off elsewhere.
