Four Clouded Yellows in my garden this afternoon, including a helice variety. I have never seen one of these before. Having never previously recorded so much as a single Clouded Yellow in my garden, I have counted six so far this year. A couple of Small Coppers made an appearance, alongside numerous Small Whites and a very good showing of Large Whites (20+), the latter having been mostly absent from these parts during the blisteringly hot weather. The verbena bonariensis is proving particularly popular with the visitors.

Another garden-first for this year. They are always very memorable. Just goes to show how widespread Clouded Yellows have been, this year. Dallington is in the wilds of NE Sussex. Great to receive records from that part of the county.  Martin K
